Struggling to find the best dating app for young adults? You’re not alone. There are a variety of dating apps available today, but a lot of them (i.e. Plenty of Fish, Love Again, OurTime) are geared toward the 40+ crowd. Maybe this is because people in these age groups have more moola to spend – especially true if they have professional jobs. And guess what? Even the apps that don’t specifically target the 40+ crowd have user bases that leave much to be desired for young, fun, and ambitious adults, who are looking for short-term or long-term partners.

Regardless of whether you’re looking for hookups, casual dating situations, serious relationships, or friends “with benefits,” the best dating app for young adults allows you to make these connections with a click or swipe on your smartphone. One of the great things about digital dating apps and dating websites is that you can use them anywhere – at home, on the road, at a hotel, over at a friend’s house, shopping, at work or school, during an activity, etc.

In other words, your usage isn’t limited to one location or device. And because most apps “match” you with “daters” who live near you, you can set-up a spur of the moment date that’s convenient and fun. You never have to be lonely again!

Who Is In the Running?

Well, the good news is I’ve examined a variety of dating apps, from eHarmony, Tinder, and Match to the “new kids on the block,” Coffee Meets Bagel and OkCupid, so I could present you with the coolest dating app available for young adults.

By the end of this article, you’ll understand why my selection is the best dating app on the market!

Although I have selected the following dating app as the ‘best’ one, it’s important that you research the various apps to make sure you’re signing up for the one that’s right for you.

So What’s the Best Dating App for Young Adults?

Drum roll, please….

The best dating app for young adults is…

(No, we were not paid to say that.)

Let’s be honest, is the “Don” of dating services. It was created in the 90s. So, it began pioneering this arena long before the newer, trendier apps showed up on the scene. And, guess what? You can tell that the makers know what they’re doing – because they are the “senior creators” in the online dating experience.

You Will Need a Few Things First…

Be prepared to sign up with a username and password, add a couple of extremely flattering pics (but avoid going all catfish on there), and answer a couple of questions about what you’re looking for. Then, voila – you’ll be ready to hit the digital dating scene. Another good thing about this particular dating app is that the “powers that be” are constantly adding new, trendy features (that appeal to young adults) to improve the user’s experience.

The Convenience Factor is Real

Some of these cool new features are local “meet-ups” and live events. When you complete your profile page, you can immediately start looking through pages and pages (over 25 million people to be exact) of available “singles” in your chosen age range, race/ethnicity, income level, type of relationship you are looking for, and gender. What happens next? Match delivers five (or more) possible “matches” to your inbox that very day – and every day after that.

Wink Wink

However, the best thing about Match is its “new age” way of flirting, which involves sending a possible “like interest” a wink. Match also offers you the option of winking at those you find on your own. And if that isn’t enough, this app provides you with tailor-made “matches” every day – based on your preferences. Lastly, the company offers expert dating coaches to help you make more connections with other daters.

Note: Although it’s free to use the basic features on Match, it’s most effective when you have a paid subscription. And to be honest, this subscription isn’t cheap. In fact, the cheapest package will run you about $21 a month for 12 months, $24 a month for 6 months, or $27 a month for 23 months. A major benefit of a subscription is it allows you to see who’s looking at your profile.

All’s fair in love and wallet, after all.

The one thing you don’t want to do when signing up on any dating app is to catfish daters with pics of other people, an inaccurate age or name, and a misrepresentation of what you are really looking for.

It’s hurtful and unfair, so be honest and look for someone who will like or love you for who you really are.

You can learn more about the best dating apps by reading the following articles, reviewed by our professionals: Dating Site Review, How It Works, Does Work? (4 Surprising Stats), and 10 Things You Need to Know About Before You Sign Up.

Download the app and sign up for the dating service.

The next thing you need to do is download the Match app from the Apple Store or the Google Play Store. Once the app has been downloaded on your smartphone or tablet, the first thing you’ll see when you open it up is a page that asks what you’re “seeking” – i.e. women, men, or both. Once you have selected your gender preference(s), click on the “View Singles” option. You’ll need to create a username and password – if you don’t already have an account – and you’ll also need to enter your email address and birthdate.

Create a catchy headline.

Once you have “officially” signed up for Match, it will be time to develop a catchy headline for your profile page. You want this headline to be unforgettable, so potential “matches” send you winks. Keep in mind that this is your introduction to other daters, so make it fun, interesting, and memorable. Examples of possible headlines include: “Ready to Meet the Love of My Life” or “Traveling Boots and Dancing Shoes.”
If you haven’t already selected your dating preferences, this is a good time to do that. You’ll also need to upload your most flattering pics. Remember, this is the first thing potential “matches” are going to see – so make it good. Note: Match administrators will have to approve your pics before they will display on your page, so refrain from photos that are too risqué.
Upload the pics that you are most comfortable with others seeing. If you don’t have any, ask a friend to snap a couple for you and then upload them onto the site – once they are “just right.” The more authentic you are, the more potential ‘matches’ you will receive.

Create a riveting profile page.

Next, you’ll need to create a dazzling profile page. A good thing about the Match app is you can edit your profile with ease. Simply select what you’re looking for in a potential love interest, your relationship status, age, weight, and height. You’ll also need to select the features that best describes your race/ethnicity, religious preferences, body shape, educational and income levels, and all of the languages you’re fluent in. Lastly, you’ll need to document your hobbies, interests, passions, pet peeves, and quirks – and what qualities you’d like in a potential “match.”
Be honest and let out the real you to dazzle potential “matches.”

Devote time to browsing your matches.

Once you have everything set up, it will be time to start browsing your “daily matches.” How do you do this? Well, by clicking on the ellipsis at the top of the page in the left corner. Then click on “Matches”  to check out your “daily matches.”

FYI: You will need to click on “Search Now” and scroll down to see all of your possible “matches.”
If you see someone who interests you, click on their name, so you can see their entire profile. Doing this will allow you to see the person’s headline, summary, what they are looking for in a partner or relationship, and any other pertinent information about them.
If you want to see a little more of a potential “match,” click on “Photos” at the top of the page in the right corner. This will allow you to see all of the person’s pics. After looking at a potential “match’s” profile page and pics, how can you let the dater know you’re interested? By clicking the “Like” button on each photo that you like.
You can also send the person a wink, add them to your “Favorites” list, or send them a personal email. What if a potential “match” is bothering you – how can you block them? By clicking on the “Block From Contact” option. You can also prevent the person from even seeing you on the site simply by clicking “Remove From Search” on their profile page.

Check your messages, daily!

Lastly, if you want to make a new friend or find the love of your life, you’ll need to check your messages on a daily basis. Seriously. Don’t have time – make time. You can easily check your messages by clicking on the ellipsis at the top of the page in the left corner. Then click on “Messages.” Do this on a daily basis to ensure that you don’t miss an important message from a potential “match.”
Note: You will not be able to receive messages until you purchase one of Match’s subscription packages.
